Herringbone flooring is the most popular choice in our parquet range, this is due to the classic and timeless design first used as flooring in France in the 16th century, the design has been popular ever since. Herringbone flooring is made up from rectangular blocks laid in a weave pattern, our herringbone is made from sustainable sourced engineered oak and hand finished at our factory in North Yorkshire. Our herringbone flooring is available in any of our 100+ shades finished in a hardwax oil or UV finish. This allows our clients to choose a beautiful timeless herringbone floor that is suitable for any application, from a quiet country home to a busy commercial property. Elesco use only the best oils to finish our floors, and then apply multiple clear topcoats to add market leading protection, meaning that you will have a hard-wearing floor that lasts for years with minimal maintenance. Please see our aftercare pages for further information.
The herringbone flooring we offer is engineered, this provides a stable and robust floor that will stand the test of time. The flooring is suitable for use with underfloor heating. Please see our underfloor heating guide. Oak flooring is a natural product that can expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes, an engineered floor is the most suitable choice for modern living. Please see our technical page for further information on how to keep your wooden floor in the best condition.
We would recommend that your herringbone floor is installed using a stick down method, this is done using a suitable flexible wood floor adhesive which fully bonds the herringbone blocks directly to the sub floor. The herringbone floor is also suitable for floating if your sub floor is perfectly flat and does not allow us to stick the flooring down. Please see our installation guide for further information.
